Privacy Notice
Short version
Everything you enter stays on your device. There is no account, no server database and no analytics.
What is stored
- Course details (title, dates, centre, instructor names).
- Learner names and the competency marks, overrides and sign-off you record against them.
- App settings and cached scenario audio.
This is saved in your browser's local storage on the device you use. Clearing site data or uninstalling the app deletes it permanently.
What is not collected
No tracking, no cookies for advertising, no transmission of learner data to us or to any third party.
Third-party requests
The app loads fonts from Google Fonts, scenario audio from GitHub Pages, and PDF/OCR libraries from a public CDN. Those providers will see your IP address and browser as part of a normal web request. No learner data is included.
Your responsibilities as an instructor
- Learner names are personal data under UK GDPR — the ACF is the data controller, not this app.
- Delete course records once the training record has been transferred to the official system.
- Do not leave a shared or unlocked device holding learner records.
- Report any loss of a device holding learner data through the ACF data breach process.
Children and young people
Where cadets under 18 are recorded as learners, handle their details under ACF safeguarding and data protection policy and keep records to the minimum needed.
